Pomme Boulangere. Put in a layer of potatoes, followed by a layer of onions. Bring to a boil and simmer until just tender but not falling.
Arrange a layer of potatoes in your prepared baking dish, then top with onions, some of the chopped rosemary, salt, and pepper.
Butter a baking dish thoroughly and place a layer of the potato slices, top with some of the cooked onion.
Put a layer of potatoes in the base of an ovenproof dish, then a layer of the onion mix, dot with butter and season. Bring to a boil and simmer until just tender but not falling. Roughly layer the potatoes and onions in a roasting tray and put the lamb on top, skin side up.
